    Tippy, I have a simple question. Have you or any of the online buddies ever made this with a different center fabric? In the process of doing my first and love the ease of this project.

    Do you mean with a different type of fabric (silk, brocade, linen) or with different prints? If you are asking about different prints, just google disappearing 9 patch or tossed 9 patch or D(P or even Second generation D9P) You'll get LOTS of pictures using different prints/colors

    And I always thought a "double nine patch" was a ninepatch for the center square of a larger ninepatch!

    Its Disappearing 9 Patch (not double nine patch - that may be what you think it is, not sure, never heard of double nine patch before.)

    I am presently working on my first D9P using your instructions which are wonderful. In fact, I have the same fish fabric. My next question is "do you have any tutorials or patterns on how to make a SLASH & STRIP quilt?" I see these in several books and on line but no directions for cutting the strips.
