we've made it to Week 2 of the DJ Cyber Block Party.
some housekeeping stuff before we move onto the tutes.
i'm attaching 2 articles that give some good tips on redrafting patterns for PP and how to design your own PP patterns.
you might find some of it helpful.
I've also attaching the DJ Schedule - the original had 2 typos and i don't know if i ever posted the corrected one.

Notes on D5
this is a fairly easy block. its up on that quilt if you want to check it out
1) Blunt the corner on Unit A to help with lining up the units to each other
2) Piece Units E, F, & G to each other
3) Attach Units A & B to the center unit (EFG)
4) Attach Units C & D to the other sides to finish the block off.

Notes to G10
another simple block. i'll detail the piecing order i used, i think it helps with lining everything up. its up on that quilt if you want to check it out.
1) Attach Units A, C, & D to each other - working from the corner towards the inside. so A sews to C and then attach D.
2) Attach Units B, G, & F to each other - working from the corner towards the inside. so B sews to G and then attach F.
3) Attach the ACD section to the center Unit E and then attach the BGF unit to the other side of center Unit E.

Notes to BR2
(the no longer dreaded triangle, thanks to the people who work ahead - they've worked all the kinks out)
1) Print as 5x8 in the DJ software
2) Re-group the triangle pieces (see next post for notes on how to do that)
3) Sew units A & B to each other
4) Sew units C & D to each side of the AB unit you just completed
5) then just attach each section ascending up the triangle. attach E, then F, then G, then H.

BR2 Re-grouping notes
i've attached a PDF of the regrouped PP pattern because i know some people are struggling with learning the software.
if you're comfortable try to regroup it yourself for practice. use these notes, the pic posted regarding BR2, and the PDF file to help you give this a try.
go to print the foundation pattern for BR2.
make sure its 5x8.
1) click on the "sections" tab.
2) click on "start over"
3) click on the 5 little triangles on the bottom row and then click "group"
4) click on next row of 3 little triangles and the click "group"
5) click on the left side long triangle that spans these two sections and click on "group" and do the same thing for the right side long triangle
6) then click on the next row of triangles (3 across) and click on "group" the flying geese type unit
7) then click on the next rows of triangles and click on "group"
8) then click on the next rows of triangles and click on "group"
9) and do the same for the next rows.
10) then click on preview and move everything around and print.
