I have been using Excel and Paint since I started quilt making, its a bit fiddly to start with, but you soon get used to it and good way to get an idea of how colours, patterns etc. go together, if like me you can't afford EQ or other programs. Will save your tute to read later, but it looks very good. I'm never very good at explaining things, its great that you can pass this on to others. Its fun too. Thanks

Thanks so much! I use Excel and Paint all the time to design my quilts, but you have given some very good "pointers" that I can definitely use!

You are a genius! I have done some designs using only Paint, and wow, it was slow going. This looks to be much faster and easier.

I was unable to find/open the finished pattern/quilt of the Wizard of Oz. Wonder if you could post the photo?

I like Paint since it gives you more artistic flexibility and I can crop images much easier, but my big problem is once you paste something in and unselect it, you can't move just that element. And I like putting in a bunch of fabric swatches and moving them around until I find a good placement, which is much more do-able in Excel then Paint.

Thank you so much for this. I have been wondering how to take my ideas that are in my head and put them on a page and this is perfect. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
