Thanks for the great tut. I will use this idea for some of the wall hangings I make for my church. I don't have an embroidery machine either and cannot afford one. It sure would be helpful for what I do for the church though.

And also you can use this technique for making straight fringe too.
Thanks. So, in other words, you only cut the bobbin threads of the large zigzag stitches. Have I got that right?
Yes that is right. The small ones in the center are to hold the fringe in place.

Great tut, and you explained and displayed great pictures too........just a thought however. Have you considered using water soluable thread in the bobbin at the zig zag area/stitches. You wouldn't have to use a seam ripper..........just dab with water like with a Q-tip...........but.......I say BUT remember to change your bobbin again for the flower center. Ask me how I know this..........because I forgot to and lost all of my stitching. Sheesh..............calla/Sue

Hi Sue, Sure, I don't know why that wouldn't work. You just have to secure the inside of the stitches with regular thread in the bobbin as well as for the center of the flower.

How frustrating. I am sure you never forgot that lesson! Thanks Sue for the idea. God bless Emmy
