    Just recd templates from MSQC for this....did not say what to do with that football one...now I know....thanks for your excellent tutorial

    This is such a good idea - I love your tutorial - now to get my Christmas fabric out - the bonus is I can use my Layer Cakes for this. Thanks for the great tute. Question - What size are the petals - I did not see any size indication. Thanks. Otis

    I think I just answered my own question - I looked at the pic again and looks like the petals are 6" from tip to tip.

    The reason I didn't specify a size for the petal, was in case you did a different size circle. Do you see the stitching line on the side of the circle? That is one half of the petal shape from the line to the circle edge. Take a piece of paper and trace that shape ( whatever size circle you decide to do) fold the paper in half and cut the whole petal. Transfer this to a piece of template plastic or cardboard and make sure to add your seam allowance after tracing the shape.
