At the very beginning of this post the very kind lady that had put it together said to take a 6" square and fold it in half , which leaves you with a 3x6 inch folded strip and press...All I did was take the six inch square and cut it in half. It eliminates the extra bulk of material that you are left with...you would then follow the rest of the tutorial as she explains it...

After you press your strip in half, you would then open it up and lay them on your backgrond fabric...

Thankyou, the penny has finally dropped, I must have been having a "Senior Moment", the fold is then used as a guide to the center of the fabric which you then align to the fold in the base fabric.

I was thinking you folded it the other way, that is why I could not understand why you would fold it and then open it up.

I am giving a tutorial on how to make the folded Dahlia next Wednesday so I had better look like I know what I am doing.
