Thanks Amma! I can't wait to try this. I think our girl scouts will have to give this a whirl on some hot pads, for a quick sewing lesson. I will try it on my next binding too. Sounds very helpful.

And btw does applique work the same way? just because i have one already

I've use a scholl glue stick. Just enough to hold it down when I'm sewing. Washes right out and no heaviness from fusible. Sometimes I use fusibke web, too though. Depends on my mood.

Janetlmt sent me a pack of the glue sticks...the purple that are for fabric or paper. I hope to never go back to using those pins ever again. I picked up a 4 pack at the Dollar Store today for $2. I love using glue instead of the pins. To me it lines up better and it doesn't bulk up like it does with the pins sometimes.

Has anyone had an opinion on using the "washable Elmers GEL glue" (pale blue/translucent)? Just asking since I found an unused bottle in our cupboard. Thanks for any input.

I recently made a "10 Min Block" quilt and someone suggested glue basting the sides of the curved diamonds down prior to top stitching them down.

I used clear Elmer's glue (washable) and the point of a wooden skewer to put *dots* of glue in the necessary areas. Pressed with a dry iron to set/dry and those curves were crisp as crisp can BE! They were a DREAM to top stitch! I know had I tried to pin the curves down they would have been wavy or slightly distorted, but it was the cleanest looking top stitching I've EVER DONE!
