I did learn from reading your tutorial, and enjoyed seeing your quilt.
Maybe you can help me; hope so! I need to make a quilt for our 4 yr. old grand daughter, then I will have done my first round of quilts for the grand children.
The only thing she asked for was that it " have Purple in it." Hopefully there will be smething that she will like now, and that she will enjoy as she gets older. Anyone have any suggestions?
    thanks! Mariah

Thank you for this great bit of sharing!!! I have the hardest time picking out "the block" in a quilt, especially if it is complex or several blocks together that form secondary patterns. I'm embarrassed how long it took me to actually find the heart you picked out. LOL I'm blaming this on my fibro, but don't know if that's really the problem.

Your sharing helped me 'see' a little better what is right in front of my eyes. I so hope you plan to do more of these for us!!! Hugs and smiles!

Mariah, I used the Disappearing 9 Patch for my granddaughter's first quilt and she loves it still. She was 5 at the time and is 11 now.
I used scrappy blends of flower and butterfly fabrics with some tone on tones and blenders thrown in for the squares that get sliced up. I called it "Olivia's Butterfly Garden". Lots of pinks, purples, blues, aquas, and less of yellows. Greens in leaves etc make nice highlights.

D9P is pretty fast and easy too. I used 5" squares for mine.
