    Hi Eddie...enjoyed your tut..have made a sample square,but how much fabric would I need to make a small wall hanging like 3'x3'.Thought I'd start out small,apreciate your help.

    Generally, you need about 4 times as much fabric as the size you are making. But remember, you don't have to get backing or batting, since this is a quilt as you go kind of project. So, 3' x 3' is about 1,296 square inches, times 4 and using 42" width fabric that would come to about 124" of fabric. So 3.5 yards ought to do it, but I'd get a little more.

    Thanks, Eddie for the math - needing about 4 times as much fabric as size of the finished quilt. It helps to know that. I have some fabric stashed away that I want to use for this (after a current project is done). Hopefully it is enough.
