Quick question: Why is the batting cut 1/2" smaller than the fabric. Wouldn't it be easier just to cut all 4 pieces the same size at one time?

yes you could do that if you would like. I did mine 1/2" smaller so there would not be as much bulk when you sewed your tucks in. I did make a 14"one for a casserole dish and cut my batting the same size. it worked just fine. Thank you for asking.

Thank you. This is a great idea, and you did a good job presenting it. Very clear and easy to understand.

Please forgive me if the pic's are not perfect. This is my first time doing a tutorial.
First of all I would like to say It is a MUST that you use 100% Cotten batting.( I used warm and Natural).
There are three sizes you can cut your fabric squares in:
    1) !4" for round casserole dish
    2) 12" for a medium casserole dish or larger bowl
    3) 10"for a typical cereal bowl size.
Grab one of your bowls from the cupboard that you usually like to use for RE-HEATING and take it into your sewing room before you begin.
I am making mine in a 12" square because that is the size that seems to fit most of my bowls.
Thanks so much. Shared this with my friends and we all loved it. It's simple and yet really cute and useful. :D

when I was using my fabric bowl today, DH said that when I make more I need to add a loop to hang them up. Sounds like a good idea.

    Awesome Idea!

It reminds me of something I came across the other day too. I plan to make the both the fabric bowls and the tortilla cozy with the same fabric and have a decorative meal for the family.
