To those struggling with pattern piece sizes - Carol Doak book Easy Machine Paper Piecing states that photocopiers often increase templates by just under 1%. Carol says to trace original pattern first then take all copies from that so they will all be the same size when printed - photocopying from photocopies increases each one by that tiny amount and can throw the whole thing out. Hope this helps; however, if your prepared paper patterns fit together nicely, then stay with the size you choose and all should come out well. Old fashioned template drawing 25 years ago taught me to make any size block I need by drawing pattern on paper and using the cutouts as my template. Jinny Beyer also has excellent instructions for drafting any shape or size in her book Patchwork Patterns

As a newcomer it took me a while to figure out what 'avatar' meant and now there is a film of the same name - must look it up in the dictionary one day LOL

Please let me know how this works out, and if you're attempting the pattern, ask lots of questions! The questions you ask will help me work out what needs to be addressed in the instructions. :)
I am getting no where with this. I have Vista. I keep going back to the post.

Paganquilter, what a beautiful avatar and quilt. I just got done reviewing your instructions and it looks to me as though you did a wonderful job of laying everything out.

It may be a while before I can make one for myself. But, in the meantime, I want to congratulate you on your beautiful design and exquisite colors choices and placement. I love it all, espeically the bold colors you used.

    Thank you so much. :-D :-D :-D :-D
