    Yes 1 1/4" from the center line on all sides. You can go bigger if you want this is just what I did.

    For the square to be 12 1/2" you would need to start with at least 15" square. I would make a trial to get exact measurements. This is just an estimate from my beginning.

    Yes 15" 4 patch to make estimate 12 1/2 I would do a test patch first to confirm.

    this is one tut I will bookmark. I'm contemplating a pinwheel quilt (baby quilt) and I'm always open for ideas.
