The World Wide Quilting Page has lots of tutorials, as does You Tube, quilterstv.com,americasews.com,sewingwithnancy.com , sewontv.com and kayewoodtv.com. All of them have access to many talented quilters such as Kathie Alyce and Eleanor burns and many more.

Kaitlin P. go to this site and print this out for your neice, it isn't how to quilt but may be a big help for her. http://static.quiltingboard.com/uplo...ster_final.pdf I just found this on this board from another posting of info for today. It is really neat. I just printed it out and plan to frame it for myself. I also printed out three other copies and am going to frame them for three quilter friends who are also quilters. I had planned to make them something for their up coming birthdays, but I am going to give this instead.
Go to the quilting board site and check out todays date, there are two posted. One had directions for a beginner quilter. Gerbie.

From experience, I have learnt a lot from video tutorials on Youtube. Leah Day for example, her videos have been nice and easy to follow and learn from.

I don't have a direct site but I know there are some out there. I also would suggest Leisure Arts Quilters Complete Guide Marianne Fons and Liz Porter as a great reference guide for new and seasoned quilters.

As an added note, I learned quilting many years ago by studying library books since no one I knew quilted. The books are a lot better these days!

Also should mention that there are a lot of very informative videos on Youtube that show different aspects of quilting.
I would get a couple of "HOW TO" books from the library - or have her do a search on www.bing.com - for learning to quilt
