Great tutorial....paper piecing baffles me but you've made it look easy, doable...and frankly quite enjoyable. Looking forward to trying this one. I had just planned on drafting the block and piecing it....but I will definitely try this!

Petey 11-15-2011 08:04 AM

Please send me the pattern thanks

grammysharon 11-15-2011 08:14 AM

I tried to PM you but they said your PM's are full and can't accept any more until you clear some out!!! I would love to have your pattern. If you would have time to PM me I will give you my email address!!! Thank You! GrammySharon

NanaCsews2 11-16-2011 06:51 AM

I too have been trying to get this pattern. I PM'd her months ago and lost contact after a couple of messages.

Quiltntime 11-16-2011 11:47 AM

FYI: I sent you a PM, but received this Error Message:

Candlequilter has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

Peckish 11-17-2011 03:07 AM

What a beautiful block! Thanks for posting this!

In order to get the "pattern" you must go to the top of this post and click into Private Messages and find candlequilter ... send her a PM (Private Message) [to candlequilter] and she will contact you with the specifics .....

However, I must point out that the original post was almost 2 years ago, and there were people who seemed to be having problems getting through to Candlequilter, so the block may not be available anymore. Good luck!

gin1957 03-14-2013 05:32 AM

Wow this is beautiful. May I also have the pattern to this.
thank you

littlebit 03-14-2013 09:22 AM

Hi could I plz get a copy of your pattern? tyvm.

suebee 03-14-2013 10:09 AM

This thread started a couple of years ago. Im not sure she is still around???a bunch of us made blocks for her (in exchange for her pattern), I believe she was doing something for a charity...cant remember, anyway none of use ever heard a word back after she got our blocks.

Peckish 03-15-2013 07:25 AM

Her last post was November of 2011, if I remember right that was about the same time the QB changed format. Maybe she was one of those who didn't like the change and never came back.

amyjo 03-15-2013 09:27 AM

I got that pattern yet somewheres in my STUFF.

fromzstore 03-16-2013 05:11 AM

BuzzinBumble 03-27-2014 10:36 AM

diamondee 04-06-2014 12:03 PM

Luv that. Thank you!

#1piecemaker 04-08-2014 05:06 AM

Thanks so much for explaining this so well. I didn't get the pattern from you but it helped me to understand the basic concepts of paper piecing as we have no classes available to us in this part of the world.

stitchquick 04-09-2014 05:16 AM

sherryl I need the pattern of paper pieces

Thank you everyone for your comments on the tutorial I did. Yes, I am still around - just wasn't much on the site. I have made 4 charity quilts from the blocks I received so far. I was a little disappointed as I only received about 20% of the blocks promised but I did make 3 red, white and blue quilts and 1 floral one for charities. I will have to go back thru my pictures to find them so I can post them so everyone can see how they turned out. I do still have the quilt block pattern for sale if anyone is interested.

Thanks again,

Please do find & post pictures of the quilts you made from the blocks we donated to you. I think that many were intimidated & unable to complete the block & felt theirs was not good enough to send to you. We all do appreciate you giving us the pattern long ago, it is a beautiful block & I Have mine mounted on a 12 x 12 artist panel, it is hanging on my wall. I myself found the block challenging but that is what I like, the challenge. I will look forward to the quilt pictures & try to remember & find the one I sent to you. Thanks again, Mamahen.

candlequilter 04-09-2014 09:32 AM

I have found a couple of pictures but am having difficulty posting them. The format has changed quite a bit since I was on here more frequently. If I can figure out how to get the pictures posted here I will. Thanks.

Peckish 04-09-2014 09:42 AM

Need some help? :)

First of all, when you look at the reply box, do you see graphics at the top? on the right hand side, there's a graphic of a tree in a box. That's the "upload a picture" button.

If you don't see the graphics, I can help you with that, too.

candlequilter 04-10-2014 08:37 AM

Thanks Peckish. No I don't see a tree in a box when I click on the reply box.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sherryl

Daune 04-10-2014 09:09 AM

Okay. First of all, open up two QB tabs in your browser, so you can go back and forth between these instructions and your settings.

Click on Settings at the top of the page.
Scroll down and on the left side of the page, click General Settings.
Scoll down to the very bottom of the page where it says Miscellaneous Options. Select the option that says Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing.
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Now you should be able to see the graphics at the top of the reply box. The yellow arrow points to the picture upload button - just make sure your pictures are 1 mb or less.

Hope this helps, can't wait to see your pictures!

I requested a copy of the pattern from candlequilter at her email address and she not only sent me the pattern but also the picture of her new Candlequilter Star table topper. With her permission I am using it as my avatar.

Please be patient with me as I create this tute.

Thank you and again my sincere apologizes,

This is for the 12" finished Candlequilter Star Block pattern. You will have 2 pages of patterns. Page 1 has units 1 and 2 on it and page 2 will have units 3 and 4 on it. You will need to make four copies of each page. Before you make all four copies you want to make sure that your one inch square scale is really one inch square and not any smaller. If it is smaller you might not get a 12 1/2" unfinished block.

The third picture here shows you what a block will look like.

This is what your finished block will look like.

thank you for sharing this with us.Ilove the fabric you choose for the block. i can't wait totry this block.

sayjan 04-30-2014 12:44 PM

I tried sending a pm but it says not allowed to send. is there any other way to get the pattern?

dgeskine 05-01-2014 06:50 AM

I'd say try to send pm again, maybe something was just not right at the time you tried. I got my pattern by sending pm.

dgeskine 05-01-2014 06:53 AM

Well, just went to profile for candlequilter and noticed that it shows "banned". Not sure why, but I guess that is the reason the pm did not go through. Sorry!

quiltingfever 05-01-2014 07:14 AM

Yes, the best way to get the pattern is to contact her at [email protected] that's how I got mine. She sent it right away.

Sallyflymi 05-01-2014 08:59 AM

Very well done quilt block and tut.

quiltingfever 09-30-2014 09:18 AM

I just noticed that the Candlequilter Star block pattern is now available on the Etsy website.

Chino Chic 10-20-2014 05:34 AM

Hello there. I just saw your tutorial on the Candlequilter Star and would love to try it. Can you tell me how to obtain the pattern? I have several books with paper piecing blocks, but none have this pattern. I'd appreciate your reply.

peaceandjoy 10-20-2014 01:21 PM

Sorry to hear that she was banned from the site. No idea what happened, but she is quite talented. She LA'd a quilt for me a few years ago, and this is a great tute with lots of pics for those of us who need detail.

Quiltingfever, ty for mentioning the etsy pattern. Just ordered the download one (it's $3.25 or $3.75 for a paper one.)

She has no idea, either. Received no notification or explanation.

I was happy to see that she's now selling her pattern on Etsy.
