Okay, this is one I can do, only because I need a few simple projects in my life right now. Thank you!

I have made 12 of these quilts without any foundation piece or sizing or spray starch. I have not had trouble with the bias going wonky and I use only scraps not precuts. I have used Warm and Natural, Bamboo, and polyester battings I like the nature fibers over the poly. I hope that helps.

What would the opinion from the group be, if you used a muslin foundation piece in sewing the strips together would it make the quilt too heavy, with using say Warm and Natural batting with backing?
Would it be better just to use a lot of sizing as suggested by a couple of the other members said? |
String qults are so terrific...but I think I went about it the wrong way...I sewed my strips together...sandwiched it with cotton batting and flannel...and cut the blocks out..thinking I would sew the sandwiched sqs together, kinda like a quilt as you go...but I think I messed up...any ideas to what I can do which what I have created?? I really could use some advise..my sqs are about 15x15..alot of fabric and alot of time invested. Thanks for any advise that comes my way.

Great tute! Thanks. May have to make this an on going project. Actually just made a similar block in the Craftsy 2012 BOM

Thanks for the tutorial. Even more interesting than a string quilt.

Love this quilt. I just finished my first scrappy string quilt and got hooked. It was soooo much fun. I was searching in all my totes for more scraps. I am going to make some more. It was fun not to have to worry so much about matching seams.
