I'm really late to this, since your original post was 4 years ago, but I love these. I need some new mug rugs (coasters) and with your great tutorial, I can not only make maple leaf designs, but I can go outside and pick up some oak leaves and maybe some others that would make a great collection and also be wonderful Christmas gifts. Our fall is not nearly long enough in Maine, so to have a bit of fall in December is usually pretty welcome.

Thank you everybody! I made a whole bunch of them for our Autumn table.
And Laurie, that is really awesome that you started thinking about all the other neat things you can make. I never realized that Fall was a short season in Maine. We've always loved Maine. |
Gorgeous!! Yummy centerpiece and the leaves make a great addition! :)

Last year we had snow in October and it was all downhill from there. This year, we're still having temps in the 80s and humidity. Took summer so long to get started (didn't start until July and we didn't have any spring) that it doesn't want to let go. The trees are just starting to turn. We usually start seeing color here in the middle of the state by the end of August.
Love your display. |
Wow, these are gorgeous! I love them! Thanks so much for the tutorial.

I would love to make super large versions of this pattern for placemats!
|
I want to try this! Love fall colors and fabrics!
|
So, I'm new here but I don't get the tutorial, just the discussion posts. Where is the PDF tutorial that is supposed to be available? Thanks!
|
Go to the first post, at the bottom hit where it says PDF. Then you have to hit pdf again on the second page because it seems the tutorial was updated at some point.

I made some this way and really liked them. But then, we wanted to make 500 of these to give as favors at our quilt show. We just started making them raw edge

I wanted to one time put some oak leaves on a table runner I was making. Could not find a pattern anywhere. I was frustrated till I looked out the kitchen window and saw my oak tree. A "duh" moment if ever there was one!

They look great raw edge too! 500 is a lot!lol

ok, ladies, I am one of those that like to print out patterns (galore!) being I don't have any more ink and its pricey, so what do you use? is it safe to use a marker, or a regular pencil is better? or do I just need to experiment? I would like to start with the leaves. so help here is appreciated. oh yes! that poem is cool and to use with the mug rugs would be a great "finishing touch"

Love these and the way they were assembled.
