My Crocheted-Quilt. Tutorial/Pics.
10 Attachment(s)
Several members of this wonderful site ask me how I made this type of "quilt" . A "crocheted-quilt" I named it.
I hope this is the right place to show it. Thank you very much for your warm welcome aboard. This is my first attemp to make a quilt 30 years ago when I was in college. The proyect was bigger but it went UFO several month later ..... (too much study and... partys I think :o ). Two years ago I rescued it from my mom's attic, I re-learned to crochet and I put together the blocks already done and voila! half of the UFO finished. The other half is raw fabric ;). and orphan blocks thus this tutorial. The size is: 43" x 64" As I am a little english challeged LOL! I think is better I show the process by pictures instead only words!! My red and green crocheted-quilt 1.- the block sandwich: the batting is poly from the eigthies!!! 2.- basting each block 3.- Joint with aplique stitch around the border. (the thread is heavy duty for embroidery) 4.- Attach the first round of double crochet through the aplique stichs. 5.-Set the pattern, mine is simple diagonal of each fabric. 6.- joint the blocks 7.- And crochet a pretty edging!!! This is the back. Well, I hope you could find this interesting. Love to hear your opinions! Happy Quilting! |

I love this ! I remember my Mother used to make baby blankets similar to these. She would use flannel and go around just the one piece, like binding them together. Many years ago. Thanks for sharing !

Great tutorial. Not sure I can still do crochet or not but I know someone who can. Thanks.
