Love your idea. Had a go with ugly awful materials and it works a treat. Made my squares 9 1/4" and made the second disappearing block measurement 1 3/4" (where you have 1 1/4") and it is easy peasy. The block is about 16" so may turn it into a shopping bag when I do the second square. Next one I make I would sew bigger seams than 1/4", .... 3/8" perhaps. Thank you very much. Cheers

What a wonderful block! Just love it. Has anyone finished a quilt using this block, I'd love to see them.

If you go to my photo bucket in my signature, in the second row, far left I made a small quilt using this block, it is amazing how it turns out, looks so hard, but it isn't.

Very clever, alot of cutting and sewing for 1 block, I would get too frustrated...
