Thank you very much for a great tutorial. I am in the process of doing the farmers wife quilt and sashing my blocks together was a problem before this.

kayluvs2quilt 01-16-2012 02:26 PM

Thank you, thank you. I have been making quilted blocks like crazy but just could NOT wrap my mind around how to join them. Your pictures made me have a 'slap-up-side-the-head' Well DUH epiphany. Thank you again for posting this.

cmilton 01-16-2012 03:51 PM

I have one (QAYG) I started several years ago by one method. I Just NEED to finish it.

goonberrie 10-11-2012 03:51 PM

Thank you Kimberly. I did not know that school glue worked for fabric. any additional tips or hints? i am a new new quilter and the longarm professional quilting is a bigger investment than my skill merits. There is an awesome Double Wedding Ring Quilt as you go book and ruler available from Cheryl Phillips of www.phillipsfiberart.com. you tube has a great video on Kaye wood's site. I think it is called a site.

lizzy 10-14-2012 04:40 AM

Thanks a bunch. You have simplified this in my mind. Definitely will bookmark this.

Lilrain 10-22-2012 01:47 PM

this method is just a little different than the one I learned. i am going to try this and see which is easier or has better end result. thank you

Thanks for sharing, this method was perfect for attaching a clothing quilt for a friend.

kathymarie 06-12-2013 04:44 AM

Great tute! Nice explananation and the pics are wonderful----very clear, concise and well-presented. If the QP come to get you we'll ALL come testify in your defense!

abdconsultant 06-12-2013 05:18 AM

Thank you for your time to show this method!

bmanley 06-12-2013 06:10 AM

You've done a great job. Thanks so much. Gotta try this.

goonberrie 06-19-2013 08:32 AM

Do youfind that theschool glue gums up needles or machine? I have done qayg and not this technique. this ismuch simpler and use stuff at home not special items, that are usually in a store 30 miles away AND closed!;}

Barb1937 05-13-2014 05:31 AM

Could I finish up a horizontal row with everything complete and then do the hand stitching on that row? Hand stitch the blocks in each row before attaching the rows together? Thanks, Barbara

abdconsultant 05-16-2014 07:03 PM

Thank you.

lfstamper 05-16-2014 07:10 PM

Great pics and instructions!

princdi 02-18-2015 05:56 AM

Love that technique maybe someday will do it
TY

owlvamp 02-18-2015 04:36 PM

I also love the way you did it. Thanks for sharing.

SandyinZ4 02-18-2015 07:32 PM

You did a great job with teaching us and fabulous pictures, too. Thanks so much. Both ways look not too hard. I really appreciate your efforts. I also like the smoothness of the 'joints' with no humps.

Deb watkins 03-13-2015 11:26 AM

This is the method that GormetQuilter.com does. It is easy! No glue though.

kiffie2413 03-13-2015 01:17 PM

Happy dancer here..
As I've got several blocks ready for qayg, and your tutorial has shown me exactly what I needed to know.
A BIG thank you!!
Kif

sueben57 06-01-2015 05:58 AM

I have been looking for a way to do exactly this method! Like you, I've been watching every QAYG video ... read every tutorial, and it just wasn't quite what I wanted. You have saved the day! Now I can finally get past the little bit that I started, on my granddaughter's quilt.
This is only the second quilt that I am attempting. My first one was a baby quilt, I was so intimidated that by the time I finished it, it was too small for the child. So she uses it for her dolls now ... lol ...
Thank you so much, you have no idea how happy you've made me!

I just referred back to it for some size questions. Helpful.

Jane Quilter 10-15-2016 06:47 PM

I love the glue dot idea.

kiffie2413 06-09-2017 12:18 PM

Thank you for sharing this!

Sharnql 10-19-2017 06:44 AM

What kind of glue do you use? Won't it wash out when the quilt is washed? The pictures really helped me understand.
Thanks

QuiltnNan 10-19-2017 11:56 AM

thanks for the tut

Sillygirl57 04-03-2018 04:15 PM

You said it was your first tutorial, I gotta say that's the best tutorial I've read. Thank you so much

IceLeopard 04-03-2018 04:36 PM

And in case anyone is wondering how to get that 1/4" turn-under even, without scorching your fingers, the method is simple. Take two strips and machine-baste together with a 1/4" seam, leaving long tails of thread. Press that seam open. Remove basting.
