Thanks for the awesome design and tut. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all your designs I've seen. I was thinking it would be perfect for PP each small square but I may try w/o the paper w/ your simple rectangle cut in 1/2.

OK I'm ready to begin my block but not sure I have the updated star Point Sq. Tut/ You mentioned you were doing an easier one. Thats the one I want. There is no update on the one I have dated January 2015 Piece & Cut BOM.

My original version of the Star Point uses swatches and a 30 degree cut. This tute posted here is the updated version and is the one to use with my BOM. Tho you can use the original version if you like.

One of the reason I did this updated version was to eliminate using a ruler to get the 30 degree cut. and I also wanted to cut down on the leftover fabric.

As far as I'm concerned the original version is quicker and easier. You don't have to have any particular cut squares. Just use a scrap piece or rough cut what you need. No math no mess.
But some find the 30 degree cut confusing and or don't have a ruler with the 30 degree line.

Whereas this version you have to take time to cut 2 1/2" strips and then cut them to the right size.
If it bothers you to have leftovers then this is the one to use.

The original is quick and easy no math no fuss
The second is less leftovers no 30 degree cut and still easy to do.

It's up to you which one you want to use.

I just found this, Rhonda...I'm anxious to try it with smaller width strips, naturally. I'm thinking 3. 1 1/2" strips would work to get 1" finished blocks. -:)

I'm excited to see what you do with these G I can't say I've done much with the 1" size in star points LOL
