That is beautiful. I got about 95 blocks semi put together in ivory and browns and I need to finish them up, just have never started. Your blocks have inspired me to get them out and figure out where they left off and I start.

Love it! How big did your blocks turn out? I want to make 4 blocks that I'll put into one to be 12 inches. Fighting hard to find the answers

Very interesting... thank-you for sharing this tutorial. I have not made a Log Cabin yet, but I would really like to try making one. I have a accu-quilt 2 1/2" die that doesn't get used enough, so it would be great to cut all my strips with it and use them for making this.

kientaoviet 05-25-2015 09:29 AM

i like it, i can do it

sawsan 05-29-2015 10:30 AM

I cut my strips 2 inches wide. You can use whatever size you want, just be consistant.

Pick the two strips you want for the foundation square.

Sew those two strips together

cut them into two inch segments (if using two inch strips)

Press open

Choose next strip and sew these segments to it

Cut into segments

Press, add next strip

To cut into segments line up your ruler on the bottom and the side

continue adding strips until you get the block the size you want.

This is beautiful and it looks so easy. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you so much for the tut...have lots of florals left over from other projects...now I know how to use them :)

I love it, just beautiful!

mountain deb 02-28-2016 07:26 PM

Sure does shorten the measuring time it takes to make the log cabin block.

Nelco 03-02-2016 07:53 PM

I learned that method from 'Quilt in a day'

sewbizgirl 03-19-2016 08:29 AM

That is so beautiful! Can't wait to get out my florals and cut some strips!
