Quick Machine Binding with Flange

Just wondering---when you sew the binding onto the back do you use 1/4 inch seam? could you use 3/8 in ch seam and get the same effect?

Wow, I really like this, it solves the ugly stitching I have had on the back when I do it the usually way and is nowhere near as complicated as some others I have seen, Thank You!

i love this concept, i will add this to try on my next quilt top which will be a batik wallhanging and i think a second fabric to the binding would add a lot....thanks
