That is great. What colors did you choose? Speaking for myself, have so much fabric, I think I would not have to buy much, except the sweathshirt. I am thinking of a two color one, but not sure. Hey even if I do not get to this, I have had something to think about.

I saw sweatshirts for $2.50 at Wal-mart just yesterday. They were not very thick, but after putting fabric on them, I think they would work.

Great job, Terri! The jacket looks great, and the instructions are clear. I sewed mine on the fuzzy side so the jacket would be easier to put on and take off and not pill on me. Thanks again for sharing this.

Ok, now we have all pieces covered, right?

Now, let's sew it all back together!!

First, take your back piece, lay it flat, fabric side up.
Take your front piece(s) lay it fabric side down, so it's right sides together. Pin at shoulder seams.

Sew 1/4 inch seam. Once that is done, go back and sew a zigzag over the seam to strenghten it.

Do this to both sides. Once both seams are done, iron seams towards back.

Now, on to the sleeves. Take your time with the sleeves. It's a bit tricky, but you can do it.
Find the center of the top of the sleeve. Put a pin in it.

Now, with right sides together, match shoulder seam and the pin up. Then pin, pin, pin all the way around from one side to the other. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO CLOSE THIS SEAM. The seam will stay open and the arm length will be sewn later. Just take your time.
You are going to sew this just like the shoulder seams. 1/4 inch, then go over it with a zigzag stitch.

Now you have both sleeves done. Ready to finish it? This is the easy part.

Match the underarm seams, pin to hold. Now pin all the way down the side of the jacket and pin the seam for the sleeve.

Now, sew one continuous seam from the bottom of the jacket, up the side and along the sleeve. There you have it! Continue with the other side.
You are still sewing 1/4 inch with zigzag after it.

Now you are ALMOST done!
Turn the jacket right side out. Do you like what you see? Cool!! Give the side seam a bit of an iron, along with the seam for the sleeve.

Now, you can either bind it with store bought binding, or binding that you've made. You can round off the front bottom corner to make it a bit more finished if you want.
I'll be adding the binding to mine in the next day or so and will post pictures of that, but the jist of it is....bind the bottom of the sleeves. Then, start at the bottom back and using ONE continuous piece of binding, go all the way around the bottom of the jacket, up the front, around the neck, and back down again until you end where you started.
