    I, too, have just came across this post. I am so impressed by all the great advice & tips. You are a true inspiration to me & now I'll have to get busy & see what I can do with all of these new ideas. I have wanted to quilt feathers forever but they always looked terrible. Now I have some guidelines. Also for my sewing machine tabletop which I have been wanting to redo forever. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. You are awesome!

    ckcowl, when I worked at Home Depot a few years ago they sold pieces of clear plastic in various sizes up to 24x36 inches. Not sure if they still sell it, but check the windows/doors section of HD or Lowes. These pieces also came in a few different thicknesses and the thicker ones were quite rigid. These should work to trace your blocks.

    Thank you for sharing this great idea! I have been trying and trying how to figure out to quilt a snowball block quilt. This idea will work for that….
