After seeing my piece from last night with the mountains and fiver scene I was asked to do a tutorial on this process. I am not a teacher and this is only my second one but I am a firm believer of *just go for it.* The worse that can happen is you don't like it in the end .. but you will learn a lot in the process.
I start with a pieces of muslin about the size of the * picture * I want to create. I laid that on my table and cut a piece of SKY that spanned across the muslin then I cut my SNOW and did the same. With the tree I ironed on some wonder under on the wrong side of the fabric and drew a basic shape of a tree and started cutting. I laid that on top of the SKY and SNOW for placement.

Next I need some LEAVES. I ironed on wonder under to the pieces of leaf fabric and cut out a lot of them and again put them on the tree for placement.

Next I did the same for my bird fabric and placed them on the tree. Same process for the rocks. Once I had placement the way I liked it I shooshed it all off:) I now needed to add wonder under to the SKY and SNOW pieces once that was done I peeled it off and started placing the sky first and then pressed it in place on the muslin.
Next the SNOW, TREE,LEAVES, BIRDS and lastly the ROCKS. Done ;). I found some wood fabric and pinned that to my design wall to see if it will work for a frame ( it will) and now it is ready to machine quilt, paint or thread paint which I will do tomorrow;).
