I'm a little confused. Looking at the picture, it looks like the finished square is off center. The center of the pieces is no longer in the center of the block. Did I miss something?

Hi there, I have looked at the photo again and it is definitely centered. Because the finished block is 11 1/2" the center of it is on intersecting 1/4" lines, which is distracting. This is the very reason that I like to use the tape. I had to find a way to reduce the margin of error after miscutting blocks here and there Thank you very much for your helpful question.

I don't have too much trouble with blocks that don't have a 'center', but the trimming is important on the one in your example and this is very helful. Thanks!!

OK now I see it. That 1/4" got in the way. Thanks so much
