I don't understand the part about using paper. I have done about the same thing as reversable quilts. Use a 10 inch square of batting then put a piece of fabric face up midway of the batting. Next piece is sewn on right sides together then flipped and continue until the batting is full. Turn it over and repeat same process. You then have a reversable quilt.

I just started sewing my scraps onto 2 1/2 in adding machine paper that's been hanging around for years. I made my first one yard piece yesterday. What a great idea and way to use up scraps. Thank you for sharing. I'm on a mission to make lots and lots of scrap projects.
