Default vintage doily mini tutorial

Here's a little tutorial explaining the process of my mini quilt:

I used water soluble glue, sparingly, to secure the doily to the linen. Then I sewed the doily around the edges with matching thread. I didn't secure in the center, but you certainly could if it needed it.

After that I spray basted the quilt sandwich and hand stitched the little mini.

I used some Liberty of London fabric for the binding. Very simple and easy.

This mini quilt is 12 X 12 inches.

That's a great idea. I have a couple of drawers full of doilies (I love making them!), and this would be a great way to display them. I have to 'rotate' my doilies, because I only have so many flat places to put them!

I've found some in the Dollar Tree Store in Maine. Not sure if those stores are all over the country or not.

Thanks, I have some my Grandmother made and it would be nice to do one
for each of my children and grandchildren for a keepsake. My kids remember
their great-grandmother, grandkids didn't know her except by picture.

That is a very attractive mini- Makes me think that several of them with coordinated but not matching backgrounds would make a great wall grouping that combines the vintage with the contemporary.
