Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I love the sun fabric. If I had had enough of the sun fabric, I would have put some in the flip-flop block. Alas, all I have left are some scraps. Not enough to get four 2 inch blocks out of it.

Here are my August blocks!
Exploding Star block:

I didn't think it would look like August in purple (plus, I did not want to make another one), so here are my August flip-flops. The colors are off. It is purple, light green, and yellow.:

Hints, you ask? Hee-Hee..........well let me think a minute. I can tell you that the September block represents many of the fall color's & oh yes, it has some of our favorite HST blocks in it. Does this help any? September first is almost here ladies so put your thinking caps on!!

Hmmm____ How am I going to make a purple maple leaf? For those of us planning to use this calendar quilt as a Christmas gift, any chance we could get November and December blocks at the same time so we have a little time to get it finished? Just something to consider.
