Linda, your blocks are beautiful. I can't help you with the measurements
Spartan, I love your blocks. It's great to see how you're doing the quilting!
Gus, that's too bad! Now you have to do it all over again. The pieces aren't that small though - I have no idea if that's a comfort

Gus: The reason I haven't been posting is varied. Being away from home due to a job from 6:30 am until 7:30 at night is a big reason, having trouble with my shoulder which sometimes keeps me from holding a needle or threading one. . . I guess it is just life. I do read the posts and Love what I see. So insperational. I hope to start again soon.

hopefully this message will go through! I actually wrote a lengthy one this morning and got a reply that it wasn't 'long enough!' ??? 'please add at least 10 more characters??? this happened to anyone else?
I had thanked Jeanine, Dakota, and others for responding to my question - I know life gets in the way - me too!! I am behind and ah well... am glad I put breaks here and there as I had not originally planned to do so when I worked on a schedule because the 2010 DJ had 2 more blocks weekly than our schedule. I just want everyone who has not posted not to feel shy about popping in and posting a note once in a while - even if they feel they have nothing to share or are behind. This is a very supportive group and we will get done eventually!
I surfed my favorite sites this morning and downloaded the next installment of 'just takes 2' from Gay's "sentimentalstitches.net" site. She has a great tute on "Y-seams" [our favorite!!] check it out:
http://sentimentalstitches.net/instr...r-quilt-block/
I had actually pieced together B8 [which I lost] exactly this way & guess I'll be doing it again!!
Happy sewing Great blocks everyone...WOW!!! and good to hear from all

Gladys, you could open the blank form in something like PhotoShop. You could then paste or place the image of each square, resizing that square until it fit into the part of the form.

A few days ago I started to track people who have been posting and comparing it to the signup list I had started. I have comments/postings from 25 of the 124 who signed up [I added your name to the signup list Jocelyn]. Never having started a group before - perhaps Nancy or the rest of you can provide some feedback here. Don't want to bug anyone - but certainly dont want anyone to feel left out or intimidated either... Has anyone ever PM'd people who have signed up for things to ask if 'all is well' etc....give status report... ?? thoughts??

Cre8tvlwyr,
The Quilt for Quilters swap is about half the size of your DJ project, but even so, a bit on the large size. Initially, we had 62 people sign up. Now, a swap is a bit different-- you've got partners to be accountable to, etc. That said, I did to a "mass email" of sorts at the halfway mark of the project. (People have six months to complete a quilt.)
I asked them to answer one question, like a survey: Please select the one answer that best describes the status of your involvement in the swap:
--- 100% (completed and shipped)
--- 75% (sandwiched and about to quilt)
--- 50% (top is pieced)
--- 25% (top piecing is underway)
--- 5-10% (most cutting, some piecing done)
--- Life happened and I have to drop out
I then posted the results as a pie chart. I know the results encouraged ME to get moving on my partner's quilt.
The other thing to consider is when your project started. Q4Q started in December 2011, and shortly thereafter the new QB was released. We lost a few people to that. Some of them are still participating in the swap, even though they are no longer using the board.
Write something fun and encouraging, that makes it safe to answer "What was I thinking???" as much as "I'm ahead of everyone else!" ;-)

Ann Clare, I love your blocks. I finally have the quilt top completed for my DGD's wedding quilt. I want to take it to Orlando and quilt it on the long-arm machine that is for rent. I hope to get back to my Lemon DJ. Are you using a color sequence or just scrap quilting?
