Boy do you get a lot done....nice donations...Thanks Bonnie...this was very interesting...I didn't know the "poison" part of the equation or that the color was of varying values...
The little heart quilt was fun to make in case anyone's interested...tonight I put together a little dolly quilt with reds and creams for kids' fundraiser the end of the month...have quilting (minimal) and binding to do.

OK, love your 'valentine' themed mini quilt. Cute.
SBG, great finish on your donation quilts! They both look 'neat' and cozy quilts.
Weather here has warmed up, stayed above freezing last night and everyone seems to be racing their car motors by our place like they haven't gotten to drive for a month! Hope I can get more done in the QR today. May it be a good one for you.

SBG, I saved the MM NYD MQ directions. I wasn't up for another mystery so soon after doing the BH one. Your top looks great! It seems like a good block pattern to use for 2.5 candy squares, even though she suggests using lights/mediums/darks for it. I'm dreaming of what I can do with 1,750 candies...
We've had some cold weather here too, lots of ice lately. One day it will be warm enough to get a cold drizzle of rain, the next that will be all frozen. Makes for bad driving.
OK, in time to be ready for Valentine's day! You are on the ball. I usually start a holiday item during the holiday time, and it's about 9 or 10 months early (ready for the next year). :-)

givio...this quilt uses +2400 squares, but they are 2" cuts. I have made this: simple construction, just make fewer units...I used a navy sashing in my quilt..it's waiting to be quilted

That Growing Up Odd has been on my bucket list for a long time... Love it!
I posted a tute for a tote bag in the Tutorials section. It's made of 2.5" candies, if you could use a tote bag.

If you wanted it bigger you could make it with a base of 16-patches rather than 9-patches. Would use up more candy that way.

Some of you have seen this, but this is my version of the quilt I linked to. I chose to put gold cornerstones in and even threw in random HST's.

Oh... GASP! That is such a beautiful scrappy, OK. It looks great with the bigger squares and dark sashing. You did a beautiful job.

Thanks, Bonnie, it is 2" cuts not the 2 1/2" as I suggested to givio. I have added a wide border to make it 84 x 84 square; I have a wide flannel backing for it and it needs to be quilted...back to farm bookwork tonight.

OK, I like yours better than the link. Changing the white to black made a huge difference, didn't it!? Thanks for the pic of it.
