These are the third and fourth lines from a poem by Joyce Kilmer that I've always thought strangely beautiful.
I suppose I've passed it a hundred times, but I always stop for a minute
And look at the house, the tragic house, the house with nobody in it.
You can find the rest of the poem here:

Just had to send it to you DD. Night all

QNSue ... weird? they both showed up when I came back on just now!! Now do tell us, when did you draw these horses? Nicely done! Will add such a nice personalization to your quilt, along with the photos you included too!
GGal ... and we are excited with you to see these quilts!
OKSGlad ... DGD no doubt was disappointed, but I bet she'll love being able to Welcome YOU home tmro! What a grand weekend coming up with you and everyone home for the holidays! (and no doubt the Easter Bunny too!)
CarrieM ... and so good to hear/see you say, "It is so nice to be home all week and feel good too!" ... particularly the feel good part!

OKSGlad and DDamsel ... sadly there are too many homes with no one in 'em! We have many here too ... and then there are the barns too, that are missing their people and animals.

Looks like DDamsel and I are on the same musical wavelength!!!!
While I was finding the tune, you beat me to it!
(and the SAME one, at that!)
I remember singing it as a kid ... and now I'll be humming along to it for the weekend, I'm sure!

No, that is not the one; the one I remember was sang by Rosemary Clooney which is also on u-tube.
I drew the horses this afternoon; things 'felt' right to do it and so I did with a black fabric ink pen. May draw more later for the border.; undecided on the border, although I can see the medium and dark fusion browns looking like leather in the border. I used to draw and oil paint horses back before marriage to dh and sell them at the local saddle shop for pin money in junior college in my hometown. I painted a few pictures of scenic views in Alaska, but after having our first daughter, Sam, I gave all the paints away, and centered my attention on family.
I did sent a copy of the pictures to OksewGlad for her gd who loves horses. I believe they can be printed off on cloth paper and used by them in a quilt.
Who knows, maybe in my 80s (that gives me another 10 years to improve myself!) my fame for drawing and painting will gain attention in the world ! LOL!!
