Hey Guys. DGM is 93. She was born in 1920. She is doin' better taday & the PT came & got her up a bit taday. She walked few steps too. I am still havin' trouble gittin' on when I'm here at the hospital. I slept most o' the day.

Mirabelle - that quilt for you daughter is gorgeous! I love the subdued colors, so different! I think your quilter should be informed that you are not happy with the job she did. I find it hard to confront people, so it would be hard for me to do, but you paid her to do a job, and it is not what you wanted.
dublb - glad to hear that your grandma is doing better, I can't believe how early they get someone out of bed that had hip surgery, especially some at age 93! Did they do a hip replacement?
QNS - great looking blocks! That 50/40 block is almost like one of the blocks I did for the Celtic Solstice Mystery - except ours had another four patch in the middle. Those Tennessee Waltz blocks are going to make a beautiful quilt!

Mirabelle, your Kaleidescope quilt is gorgeous! I agree with everyone on the star quilt. I don't understand why she did that. Can you talk to her?
Janie, your block is beautiful, I love the colours!
QNS, you sure have been busy. Great blocks! Only thing is, on the Kansas Trouble block all outer HST's are facing the wrong direction.
Dublb, good to hear your DGM is doing a bit better!

Mirabelle...I love the Baptist Fan pattern and it is completely lost in your stars quilt. I've never seen one so large! I agree that something should be said to her. Better than you just stewing about it and her thinking that you were satisfied with her work. Love DD's quilt.
QNS....you have been making up for lost time with all that's coming out of your sewing room. It was pleasant to hear a compliment for DH....
JanieW....what beautiful fabrics for the TW! What plans do you have for it when you get it completed?
Dubib...enjoy the moments you have with DGM even when the circumstances are not ideal but do take care of yourself.
Jeanie....are you in the drought area if California? It doesn't sound good at all.
carrie....glad your arm is getting better. I can tell you're chomping at the bit to get going. Maybe more things that don't require so much trimming...like the jelly roll quilts....even what they call crumb quilts....sewing scraps on paper just every which way to make blocks. It's not just a slow down, it's an opportunity to do something different that can give you as much satisfaction and pleasure.
Honchey....bummer....I've noticed that any pressure on my legs that slows down circulation can cause me to have cramps at night so I have to be careful how I sit as well. I don't usually have swelling though.
Rain, ice and snow yesterday and much colder now so everything is slick and white today. Stay safe everyone!

D_D & Ggal, Beautiful, unique MB...Lots of work in it and it shows.
Janie, the 54/40 block turned out great...
Dublb, hope your granny feels better soon...take care of yourself...
QNS, I'll be posting the Feb. Spike thread later today..
Strange thing about my right leg is that the left one doesn't swell at all....???

Dh has sympathy pains, so I gave him a couple of Advil pills yesterday; it helped him. Love how he is finally organizing his shop, and he has plans of doing more this month since the garage is attached to the house and it is a heated space used by my nine cats and his tool section and my pantry of canned goods.
Funny how everyone noticed the beautiful job that Janie did; and it was wonderful which leaves me wondering what was wrong with my 54-40 block...
Thanks again, Anael on noticing the KT problem...I do like it better corrected, now on to more Sylvia blocks.
Thanks Honchey for the update. We will see who posts first in the February SYEs.

QNS--you both made great 54-40 blocks...if you read through the last couple pages again you will see lots of compliments on your blocks and progress in general. I know some days I just post in reply to the last picture I saw...I don't always have time to reply to each post. Other days I feel great and "chatty" so have longer posts.
Migraine yesterday and today...time for a nap (I took a 3 hr one yesterday and that helped a lot)....

JanieW ... your TW fabrics have a nice calming sense to them. How appropriate for a waltz!
DDamsel and GGal ... a great block! So unique and will be a fun addition to all the scrappy ones
QNS ... have you made your final decision on the TW fabrics? Soon be time for your DJ kits to arrive ... January's well on the way? Seems like you are non-stop again. ITA nice to see a compliment to MrQNS
So how has everyone done with their January Quilty Goals, whether UFOs, new starts, or whatever?? I'm going to check in on my original post to see what I committed to and will check back in later.
Then ...... time to consider what February's goals might be!!
I have a general idea ... just need to see what might be realistic amidst other commitments and then wondering how many snEw days I can rely on to achieve them!!
