Block # 51 Hovering Birds
1. Dark T # 8 Cut one 3-7/8" square then in half diagonally.
2. Dark T # 4 Cut a strip 2-1/2" x 10-1/2" Then every 2-1/2" to get four 2-1/2" squares.
3. Dark T # 7 Cut a strip 2-3/8" x 8" then every 2-3/8" to get three 2-3/8" squares.
4. Light T # 7 Cut two strips 2-3/8" x 8" - stack the strips then cut every 2-3/8" to get six 2-3/8" squares
set one square aside- mark a line diagonally ( corner to corner)- take two of the squares and cut them in half
diagonally- set aside- take the remaining three squares and place them right sides facing with the three squares
from step 3- sew a scant 1/4" seam on both sides of the marked line then cut on the marked line. Press- flip open-
press again- don't stretch the fabric.

Block # 52 Hovering Hawks
1. Dark T # 4 Cut a strip 2" x 10-1/2" then cut every 2" to get four 2" squares.
2. Light T # 58 Cut 2 strips 1-5/8" x 5-1/2". Ust the template to cut the correct angle.
3. Light T # 7 Cut two strips 2-3/8" x 8" stack the strips then cut every 2-3/8" to get six squares- set one aside.
mark a line diagonally (corner to corner) take two squares and cut them on the marked line then set them aside.
set three squares aside.
4. Dark T # 7 Cut a strip 2-3/8" x 10-1/2" then every 2-3/8" to get four 2-3/8" squares. take one square and cut in half diagonally.
take the remaining three squares and place them right sides facing with the three squares from step #3. sew a scant
1/4" seam on both side of the marked line then cut on the line. press- flip open. press again. try not to stretch the
seam.
