anyone else who feels like i do, it just gets to much with life sometimes that you have no energy for crafting

I get like that. If I get a spare minute I will read a book or do something different, like taking a walk. Eventually it passes and sometimes I even get a renewed passion for my quilting! Just take care of you!

Let me tell you how often I feel that way. I love to quilt. However I didn't quilt a lick from November until the end of January. I didn't make that first Christmas gift or start or finish anything. I read lots of books and slept way too much. Then I went to a retreat and was revitalized. I've been doing pretty well since; but I never know when I have a burned out period coming. Hang in there, it will pass.

No it's not just you. From time to time we all need time out. Take a rest from sewing and get yourself well. Reading the posts here should help you and join in when you are able. Thinking of you. Hugs on the way.

no it is not just you, I retired at the end of March and thought I would have all the time in the world in spend in my corner of the quilting world and being doing all kinds of fun stuff. Not even between helping my husband in the yard, getting the house in order and getting ready of summer (opening pool and such) there has not been a lot of time, but I am thankful every day to be able to do as much or a little as I want to. My quit room is our bonus room which is on top of our garage and it gets really hot up there so I try to go up in the morning before it gets too hot, I figure summer is for making tops and winter is for quilting them. Hang in there it does get better.

Nope, it's not just you! I just went through a several month stretch where I didn't TOUCH anything craftsy. We all get those times. Just do something else that relaxes you, and before you know it, you'll be bit by the "bug" again!
mountain-moma- Congratulations to your son! Also to you, for gaining a daughter-in-law! Just wait for things to settle down a bit, and maybe plan to make them a quilt for their first anniversary. Don't stress yourself out! *hugs* :D
