A/C vent fins - straightened out

My ac unit took a hit during one of the last hail storms here. I had my guy take a look to make sure that I could do it myself- and I did. It was hard work, but it looks so much better now.

great job...I am surprised no one ever told you that you need to put a fence around it to protect it...when they installed my parents that was the first thing the guy told them...build a wooden fence around it leaving 6" air space all around it, and the back open!

So, how did you do this yourself? We have hail damage to our also.
The trick is not to get in a hurry. I only worked for a couple hours at a pop over a couple of weekends.

You can also get a "comb" for that purpose too. At AC repair person or hardware store. That's what the insurance adjuster advised.
