embroidery software
I bought a Brother PE 770 and thread and needles etc. They said I was all set even though I asked if I need any kind of software and the sales person said totally optional. I am sure it was because the machine has some designs with it. I bought a Dakota Collectibles design cd and can't do a thing with it. Now it looks like I need to convert the pdf files to pes so I can open and put on a thumb drive to use on my machine. Does anybody have any software suggestions. I tried a 30 day demo of Embird but can't get it to load on my computer.
Thanks for any help.

I read the info about the machine & it looks like it will take a USB stick with designs on it. Embird is an excellent program to use to view designs & convert them to PES if you don't buy them in the PES format. Could you tell why Embird didn't load on your pc? Embird has very good support. Try contacting them.
There are several Yahoo groups that will help you with Embird. I am running Windows 7 & using the 64 bit system. You do have to know which system your computer will run. I wish I was a computer guru & could help you more. There are a lot of others out there that are really good.

CD's should contain all formats you don't need to convert just transfer to a Zip drive. Software is really only needed for editing or viewing purchased design if you need that. Don't rush into it download free trials first

Ordinarily when you buy designs like Dakota Collectibles, Amazing Designs, Cactus Punch, Anita Goodesign, etc. they will include all formats under designs on the cd or thumb drive. This software is free from Amazing Designs and it will allow you to look at the design then you can save it to the method you need to transfer it to your machine. My machine uses a thumb drive for transfer. http://amazingdesigns.com/edit-express-lite

If you access www.wilcom.com you can download their free software called Truesizer and then you can convert to the format you want.
