The product round-up has been banned from use in my town. I sometimes used it on my gravel drive, I also used a lot of salt. Didn't work. Found this great recipe on the net. One gal. vinegar,1 cup salt about 8 drops of any dish soap. Heat 1/2 vinegar to disolve the salt. When salt has desolved add rest of vinegar. Put in syrayer, add soap.Spray weeds etc. Be sure not to spray anything you don't want gone. It kills all plants. I just sprayed my yucka(sp) plant yesterday & today it looks sad. Hope it will kill that,as it is quite invasive

Maybe that explains why the Roundup I sprayed a couple weeks ago acted like fertilizer to the clover growing in my gravel/stone. A lot of chemicals are being banned. I learned last month that lawn fertilizer no longer has phosporous included.
A lot of commercial lawn services used a Dupont project this year that has killed all the very mature Spruce or Pine trees in our development. This problem appears to be happening all over the country. I don't know how the got the product on the market without knowing of the potential problems.

You don't need to put the salt in. The vinegar works by itself, but does better on a hot, sunny day. The salt might be good for a gravel drive, though. It will make the soil not good for growing. I wouldn't use the salt where you want to grow things besides weeds.
