Gift ideas for remembering Mom
I lost a dear friend to cancer this week. She leaves behind her only child (DD just graduated from college) . DD got engaged 2 weeks prior to her mothers' passing. I want to gift her a small token of remembrance....not like she will forget her amazing and brave mother! Just a little something.
no, I am not going to make a quilted gift etc. Thinking a locket, a necklace with a cross, maybe. Thoughts? Ideas?

Do you have some thing that she has given you in the past that you can give back to her daughter? I love this type of gift the most. I have my great-grandmothers earrings. I have earrings from my friend in NM. A ceramic egg from a friend I worked with. Even if they say they don't want it, it was theirs and they loved it at one time and they have entrusted me with it now. Just an idea.

Love the idea but my buddies did not exchange gifts. We knew each of us had what we needed and wanted and preferred to go out to lunches and dinners and visit our heads off. Too much "stuff" . But still, a great idea nonetheless.
I have a few gifts that were given to my late Aunt given to her by my Uncle. She always put a sticker on each gift with the date received and who gave it to her. I love reading the labels. I enjoy a ceramic music box that my Uncle gifted her in 1981. Good memories of those two! I miss them. But I digress....

Perhaps a letter telling daughter how much her mother loved her - and little incidents her mother told you in conversations -
Example: - Last week the kids tried dying eggs with Kool-aid -
Maybe things like that???

My granddaughter (age 14) lost her dad when she was 10. My daughter bought her a necklace that is like a clear locket you put charms inside of. She has four or five charms that relate to her and her dad. She cherishes that necklace. My daughter got it online from some place I can't remember the name of. It had the word "Owl" in it, in case someone knows what I'm talking about.
edit Origami Owl is the name of the place she got it!

Do you have any pictures of her? Maybe with you and/or any of her friends? Maybe you could make a small "book" of pictures, with a fun thing that the picture depicted, described by you and her friends. Or stories like bearisgray suggested: Something Mom told them about her, an accomplishment, engagement, how proud she was when ....... happened, etc.
