Hand Embroidered Flour Sack Dish Towel Completed!
This is the first one I have tried using a flour sack dish towel. I found it different with such loose threads in the fabric. Don't judge me too harshly. lol....The first picture is the front, and the second picture is the back.
They are sort of what I call a doodle bug style. lol..

I haven't ironed them yet so they are wrinkled, but just wanted to show my first attempt. Thank you for looking.

I read that the more you wash them the more absorbent they become. If that is true then I can see the charm in using the flour sacks. I have some more I will do later, but had to go ahead and try one out to see what it felt like with the looser threaded fabric in these. It is different, but still fun. The others will get washed a few times before I begin. I love experimenting with different types of fabric etc. I also want to see what happens to this one with the embroidered stitches after the washing. I will have a true comparison.

Reminds me of when I used to help my grandmothers with the dishes. Thought they were the prettiest things. She ironed all her linen including her dish towels. She didn't have a lot of storage space so everything had to fit just right.
