Handmade Wedding Cake Topper - Photos!
#1
Hi Ladies,
I am getting married one week from today! I decided to tackle only one DIY project for the wedding, so I made a custom wedding cake topper. It took a very long time due to the intricate details, but I am happy with how it turned out.
I was inspired by Ann Wood, an artist who creates amazing fabric birds and creatures (she has a great website). My lovebirds are made out of satin and stuffing, with wire-covered clay legs and beaks. I added a veil, beading and a tiny top hat for details. The base is a ribbon-covered styrofoam cake round, and all of the flowers are vintage millinery flowers.
Here are some photos of the cake topper. Enjoy!
