Today is my grand daughters 17th birthday. She lives about 15 miles from me, but I do not get to see her often. That dreaded divorce thing. She knows I love her and miss her. We do text often and do FaceTime. I have a FaceTime "lunch date" with her today and have sent her gift already. Daddy got her a car. my son is not her biological father, he started dating mom when daughter was 4 and they split when she was 12. He takes full responsibility for her as if she was of his blood....bio-dad abandoned her and mom when mom was 8 months pregnant.
I made her a tote and some accessories to match the color of her car. Personalized with her monogram, of course.
Happy birthday to all who celebrate today. And sorry for the long post....I just wanted to share how just because you are not with them, you can celebrate anyway.

No, don't be sorry at all. Thanks for sharing her birthday with us.
I know about the divorce thing all to well.
MY GD is now 13 and i had to really struggle to get to see her when she was little.
Last summer her Mom finally realized that had been a mistake on her part and apologized for
keeping her away from us.
