I am in Houston also. I was in Missouri (Chillicothe) for the eclipse and then on to Hamilton and Missouri Star Quilt Company (yes, it is as great as everyone says!). Then my niece called about Harvey and I was fortunate to be able to change my travel plans and got back into Houston late last night. Glad to be home with my cats and so I can be here "just in case". I have learned to make hurricane preparations at the beginning of June so have plenty of supplies and don't have to brave the stores.
Hope everyone affected by this storm stays safe!

Houston is expecting lots of rain over the next 5 days. Hopefully it will come in waves & have time to drain off some between those waves. My DD's office in Houston flooded 2 times this year & she doesn't need a 3rd flood. It takes her anywhere from 6 months to a year to get back to "normal" with clients & such each time it floods. We feel relatively o.k. at our home & we did get a generator put in after Ike (since we were out of power for 30 days after Ike). So we should be o.k. as far as power. We are on a septic system & water well so we should be o.k. with that as well as long as the generator works.

Harvey made landfall near Rockport. I don't know where its going from there. There are lots of computer models out there. I'm going to stay up for another hour or so and watch the coverage to see if I can get an idea of where it's going
