Help-Stain Removal
I need help removing grease-like stains/spots from knit shirts that appear after they are washed and dried. Does anyone know what causes them and how to get rid of them? They usually appear on dark colored polo type knit shirts and look like a grease spot. I tried putting in the detergent and letting the washer fill with water before adding the clothes but I still get these spots. Also, once I get them is there any may to remove them? Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice on this.

Another link on the board references Oxy Clean -- I read so many glowing testimonials, I'm picking some up! I keep my DH busy in the laundry area as I end up with so many spots on my tops, no matter how hard I try to keep it clean.... : (

Some times the oil type stains, if not there prior to washing, can come from dryer sheets. I stopped using them when I wash my "dress" slacks , as the oily type stains made them unwearable as "dress" slacks.
AS for how to get them out... I have had some success with soaking over night in dawn dish liquid.

Ivory soap detergent powder got out stains caused by using dryer sheets. that was on my husbands shirt. polyester too. soaked it and then washed it. never tossed dryer sheets in again. If that doesn't work, try Oxy clean detergent. it does wonders too.
