Home Made Hair/Pony tail holder/accessory
Hi everyone, Hoping one of you might know where to find directions for making this. A lady showed me what she held her long hair together with and wanted to know if I could make one but I can not find directions. Have any of you ever seen such a thing? It was a piece of fabric about 4" x 10" long with a long button hole in the middle. On either side (inside the fabric) was some kind of flat, thin metal that was very flexible. She gathered her hair up, put it through the buttonhole and began twist the ends, which perhaps tightened up the button hole???Then gave the whole thing a twist and voila...it held her hair together better than anything she ever had, she said! I don't know what to search for on 'net. Hair accessories just brings up flower-looking things. Figure with all your eyes, perhaps one of you might have seen something like this. She wouldn't let me have it because it was the only one she had but she wants more. Fingers crossed that the mystery will be solved. :-)

It was one of those "seen on TV" things called Sophist Twist. Presented by Jenilee Harrison. I don't know if that will help as it had a lot of different names but I never saw a pattern to make one.

The original was probably the Hairagami, which is not made anymore. There are several different types on Amazon. I found these based on the above posts:

I remember those. The wire was white florist wire. If you remember the Ficklestick fabric projects that was the same wire used for those. I have a lot of that wire left from a Ficklestick workshop. Look up Ficklesticks. I think the wire was sold on that website. It's hard to find in most florist shops.
