I need some advice
#1
My youngest daughter is getting married in September. I am doing the planning and florals not only because I am mom but because it is my business. She has made a request that I need some advice on. I hope you ladies can help.
She bought her gown online and it is absolutely beautiful and fits like a glove. It is halter style jersey knit and reminds me of a greek goddess. Very simple design. Her loving... and I say this ready to cuff him... said at a wedding yesterday that he hopes her gown is one of those beautiful beaded ones. You know the over the top, weigh a ton ones. Now she is worried that he won't think hers is beautiful! It has a plain satin waistband and I want to embellish it with a strip of beaded lace. I would appreciate any thoughts on this. I don't want to do too much to it. Afraid that it would take away from the gown's simple beauty.

Beautiful dress, I just embellished a dress that I wore for my sons wedding. I got the iron on jewels and did it along the neckline and waist it was so pretty. Just hand sew or fuse on what she likes. He will think she is beautiful no matter what the dress is!!

I would leave it totally up to your daughter; no matter what anyone else says. It's her day and she found the dress. I think any man who sees his bride walk down the isle and really loves her will think no matter what she has on that she's the prettiest thing ever. She needs to be true to herself and her style

He might have thought it looked really great on the bride he saw, but each bride has her own style and she picked a dress to fit her style. If she wants to add something then by all means around the waist band would work.

have her tell fiancee those kinds of gowns are out, and if he would like beads he can have them put on his tux....lol.
seriously, maybe he and she can look through some bride mags together and she can point out how styles have changed and the kind of gowns she likes.

Remind the guy that it's the BRIDE'S day, the groom's night....
;)
It's a beautiful dress...she's going to be gorgeous!
You might also want to remind her that she doesn't want to lose her independance....EVER! It's totally possible to please her man without giving into his every whim...especially when it concerns the way she dresses or wears her hair...

Honestly sometimes I don't know where I found that girl! She is the one who worries whether someone else will like her choices and it is difficult to get her to understand that if it makes her happy it doesn't matter what others think! I know Ryan will think she is beautiful and that day the gown won't matter! I'm not giving Ryan any suggestions about his tux lol! He and her dad already have her thinking they will have velcro sleeves so they can tear them off!

I did wedding dress sewing as a business for a few years. You might tell your daughter that if she likes the way she feels in the dress, then it is the right dress. And that a bride is the woman wearing the dress, not the dress wearing the woman. I'm sure he will love her in her dress, because she feels lovely in it.
That said, alittle bling is easy to do. It can be pearls, not just sparkles. Craft stores sell them as sew on, and there a variety of sizes to use. If she is wearing pearl necklace, then I would suggest pearls as additive on the dress to not distract the eye from her face. good Luck.
