Your machine is plugged into the computer and is not recognized? If you do not need to do an installation, perhaps you need to update the machine drivers for this new OS. I hate Win10..so am still using XP and Win7ult for my embroidery!

S. I like Win 10 but there are times. Most like to keep you updated all the time but there are times, to leave well enough alone. Again, hope you don't mind me jumping in here but thanks for the information again.

My guess ... it may be wrong but this sort of thing is happening lots between W-10 and older technologies.
...... It could be that your machine cannot "talk" to the more advanced Windows-10 on your computer, and now the two are not compatible.
If so, you will need to talk with your dealer and/or the Janome people to see if they have an update.
Otherwise, you will need to go back to a pre-W10!

First, check the manufacturer's website. They are good about posting patches and software updates free if you are a registered user. I have the 14000 and have not experienced any incompatibility problems, but I have owned Janome products since 2003 and have used the website to do updates for my 9500.

Some of the older programs can be run in Win10 by choosing to have it run in older OS mode--I can't think of the proper term--but it is available on the computer. However, I attempted this with my older PEDesign and was not successful because the software was created to run w/32bit processor and the WIN10 is 64bit. So, I use WIN7 and my old XP for that program.
