I didn't check out the links but I'd probably turn it inside out and hang it outside in a shady spot for as long as possible. Or possibly put it in a plastic bag with either some charcoal or a bar of soap that you like the scent?

Put it in a plastic or paper bag with charcoal. Charcoal removes smells wonderfully. We had a basement flood once and my stored antique furniture smelled awful afterwards. I put bags of charcoal on the floor and closed the door and all the smell left. After than happened, charcoal has saved me many times with bad odors.

Put it on, throw your leg over your motorcycle, and go find a thunderstorm to ride in.
No wait! That’s what I did to make my leather jacket smell musty in the first place.
Never mind. Carry on.

My husband bought a stinky leather jacket at Goodwill and I want to put it in the washing machine but he won't let me. I'm not sure why he'd buy clothing with someone else's stink on it. I guess I have the same problem so I better check out those links!

A male cat sprayed my DH's leather so I dug it out of the trash and threw it in the washer with a triple dose of Gain and had to rinse it a couple times. I figured it was worth a try-he had already chalked it off as a loss. It came through without any problems. I threw it over the cloths line till it was all but dry -turned it inside out-threw it in the dryer to soften 10-15 minutes. That was 20 plus yrs ago. I altered it to fit me after he passed away and it is still as soft as can be.
