Men's aprons...
I am making some men's aprons for a bazaar and need some ideas on how do do the neck ties...I was going to do D rings but they are so noisy in the drier...would big buttons be too girlie? Or just do ties.

I make my husband's solid, but if you want adjustable, there is a pattern that uses one cord that runs around the whole apron in a casing that can be adjusted easily. I'll try to find the link.
Found it: http://m.instructables.com/id/How-to...e-chefs-apron/
I uploaded this link from my tablet, so if it doesn't work for you, Google "how to sew an adjustable chef's apron"; it is on a site called Instructables.

This is the pattern I use to make my husband's work apron.

And here is a picture of the finished product:
I made a padded neck strap and used snaps to adjust it. And velcro for the waist band strap.

Our quilt guild made aprons from men's overalls. They cut them off at the crotch and saved the side pockets on the front and cut off at the back under the suspender part. They enclosed cut edges in bias tape and sold them for $10 each. They were a big hit fot gardening, painting, and general dirty work as they are heavy and washable.

I like the idea of using Snaps- even the adjustable strap with Snaps spaced apart... or velcro, just remember to slap it together before Washing apron... apron made of cut up old/recycled bluejeans... Blue Stripe Pillow Ticking ( if you can find the heavy kind ) Ever popular Camo or Mossy Oak Hunters for the men...
