Missing E-mails?
A bunch of e-mails have been deleted - zapped - disappeared from my comcast.net account.
We did not delete them - comcast says they did not delete them. They are GONE! I called Comcast and
an advanced tech person says I was hacked.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
The moral of the story - print anything important at the time you get it.

I would be concerned that the hacker might harvest the addys from the senders and start "spamming" them. If you can let your friends know so they can be alerted?...some alarming spams are when they pretend to be a friend needing emergency money somewhere. I hope there was no personal info in the mails that were hacked. Have you noticed anything else odd about your computer--did you have financial info stored with passwords ?? It might be a good idea to change those important passwords anyway, just in case. The ones for QB, etc, I would not worry about.

The only financial info (that I think I have on the computer) I have on here is for PayPal - and I always enter my password for that.
All my Sent things are disappeared from June 16 and older, but in the In box there are things left back to 2014 - so it just didn't register that major things were missing until this week when I needed to find some things that are gone.

Your mails may still be in your computer..mine often asks if I want to compact my emails to save space...have you done a ''find'' for a certain one that you are looking for? I keep my boxes deleted to save space--opening the program can slow computer down...I think. I just get rid of my sents and deleteds at least every week. Maybe I just have too much mail!!

After talking to Comcast and Apple Help - the e-mails are gone.
We had looked "everywhere" they might be.
I finally got "jackie" at Apple Help and we found that my computer had been infected after she helped me install malwarebytes on it.
She also told me to turn off the computer when I'm not using it. I had been setting it on "sleep" because I was impatient with the starting process.
All the people I talked to were as helpful as they could be - considering what had happened.
